Reporting to a Land Surveyor in the Contracts Section, you will assist in undertaking various surveys within Hampshire. Part of your role will be the calibration and maintenance of equipment and survey records. You will interface with members of the public and therefore be able to sensitively deal with enquiries whilst gaining permission to enter land for survey purposes.
With an HND or equivalent, or significant operational experience in land surveying, you will have a good working knowledge of surveying software applications. You will also be familiar with Health & Safety procedures and have the ability to fulfil the travel requirements of the role.
Job Purpose
• Undertake land and other surveys as instructed by the Land Surveyors.
• Calibrate and maintain the Land Survey Section’s survey equipment (Total Stations and Levels).
• Carry out regular checking and adjustment of Land Survey Section’s survey equipment.
Essential qualifications
• Trained to HND level capability or substantial operational experience in land surveying.
Essential knowledge, skills & experience
• A good working knowledge of survey techniques and associated computer applications.
• Good numeracy and computing literacy.
• Ability to assess resource requirements for survey assignments.
• Familiar with site Health and Safety procedures.
• Ability to travel from office to site.
• An approachable manner when dealing with members of the public or other professionals.
