Exciting opportunities exist at TyneMet College’s Flex Fitness Gym for two apprentices to work within the Gym and Sports Facilities. Work will involve covering a range of areas including Gym upkeep, supervision and the promotion of Gym and Fitness activity. There are opportunities to design and implement training programmes for a range of clientele, the successful applicants will also get some fantastic experience as they shadow the Strength & Conditioning coach and work with the athletes in the North East Sports Academy.
The successful applicants will study a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Instructing Exercise & Fitness as well as working towards a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instruction and Functional Skills. There will also be a range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities in the area of exercise and fitness instruction.
The successful applicants will have positive and outgoing personalities who can engage with a range of customers. The ability to work in a team and to be pro-active and show initiative in supporting the fitness and sporting activities at the College are vital.
Any offer of employment will be subject to the receipt of a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
