We have an exciting opportunity to join our HR team, delivering a high quality employee relations advice service to Head Teachers and Governing Bodies of schools within Hampshire. We are seeking a creative individual who thrives on variety, complexity and challenge to add value to our business

Based within a supportive working environment where professional development is key, you will work as one of a team of consultants, managing your own casework, and team projects. You will be customer focused and flexible in your approach to work.

You will be a graduate or chartered member of the CIPD, or have relevant experience. Taking on complex and challenging casework or policy development activity, its essential that you have experience in employee relations cases and policy development with strong communication and influencing skills

Job purpose
To ensure expert guidance, delivery and support of high quality, comprehensive and effective generalist or specialist HR services to customers and HR colleagues within a framework of best practice, HCC policy and employment law.

Essential knowledge, skills & experience
  • Successful experience in leading projects on developing and
    implementing HR solutions and service delivery options;
  • Successful experience in developing productive relationships
    with staff at all levels;
  • Good all-round knowledge of employment practice, resourcing
    or performance management;
  • Able to identify and recommend innovative solutions consistent
    with best practice and corporate frameworks;
  • Able to provide sound guidance to line managers and
    employees on legislation, best practice and interpretation of policies and terms and conditions;
  • IT literate, familiar with products used in HCC and skilled in the
    use of SAP;
  • Able to initiate policy development in response to Departmental business needs;
  • Good communication skills both written and oral High level interpersonal skills;
  • Uses initiative and able to work alone or as part of a team; Good problem resolution skills, able to identify causes and suggest options for successful outcomes;
  • Good project management skills;
  • Able to constructively challenge and influence innovation;
  • A commitment to customer care and continuous improvement;
  • A good understanding and commitment to Hampshire County Councils aims, plans and HR Strategy;
  • Understanding of and commitment to Equalities and Diversity.
