Do you want to help us to deliver our eco-town for the community of Whitehill-Bordon?
Whitehill-Bordon is one of four towns in England which has been designated as an eco-town. We have been given funding to deliver a sustainable and exemplary eco-development which will pilot some of the foremost technologies of the day as well as becoming a focus for green innovation. The Eco-town project is managed by East Hampshire District Council, but is a partnership between all levels of local government, the Ministry of Defence and the Homes and Communities Agency.
You will be responsible for leading on eco housing and retrofitting, one of the five eco-town themes for the delivery of the Whitehill Bordon eco-town programme. In particular you will be responsible for managing the eco-fit and retrofitting programmes for existing dwelllings in the town as well as project managing the construction of some exhibition houses which will demonstrate the technologies. The First House, designed by Riches Hawley Mickhail has already received planning permission. We also plan an international housing design competition for development of other exemplar housing.
As well as being an expert in housing and retrofitting, you will manage relationships with relevant experts within statutory agencies and external consultants and suppliers ensuring they contribute to the delivery of the Eco-town.

You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of sustainable house construction or design and of retrofitting. You must be committed to the eco-town ethos and be passionate about dealing with the challenge of climate change.
