Ten month contract
The cultural scene in Southampton is really changing. This is an opportunity to lead the completion and opening of a major new visitor attraction opening in Summer 2011. You will act as the council’s client for Tudor House Museum, and provide some support on Sea City Museum. You will work closely with the consultant project managers, Southampton’s internal arts and heritage team and the architects and museum designers to ensure this unique and historic venue is delivered to a high standard., to schedule and within budget.
You will join the project team at an important and exciting time as the preparations for the operation of the venue are progressed. Your contribution to the exhibition design arrangements, marketing, branding, launch and opening events will be critical.
You will have a track record of successfully delivering major high profile projects and will have experience of performing a key role in the development of a new cultural facility to ensure that opportunities created by the ?7m investment by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Southampton City Council in this new visitor attraction are maximised. Communication skills and and an aptitude for partnership working are essential and you will need to work collaboratively with major stakeholders and external funding partners to ensure the project is a success.
