Delivering outreach services in a variety of rural locations for families with children under five, you’ll be responsible for driving and managing a purpose built vehicle.
You’ll have customer facing experience, a Large Goods Vehicle Category C licence and enjoy working with the general public on a daily basis.
As you will be at the ‘front line’ of the Children’s Centre Service Delivery including daily contact with vulnerable, hard to reach families, it is essential that you present a professional, courteous, caring and friendly image.
Job purposeTo provide as part of the children’s centre’s core offer, outreach service delivery through driving a vehicle.
Essential qualifications
- Current Large Goods Vehicle Category C driving licence (to drive vehicles over 7.5 tonnes)
- 10+ tonnes – recent experience of driving similar vehiclesDesirable Qualificationsn/aEssential knowledge, skills & experience• Literate and numerate.
- Competent in using ICT (email, word processing)
- Experience of working with the public in a face to face situation
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to interact appropriately and well with the community served
- Ability to keep to agreed timetables
- Experience of routine day to day vehicle safety checks and maintenance
- Working knowledge of standard vehicle Health and Safety legislation
- Ability to use initiative when required
- Able to work effectively as a member of multi agency team.
- A flexible approach to work patterns, including possible pm and weekend hours.Desirable knowledge, skills & experience
- Knowledge of services for families with young children within the local community
- First Aid qualification or willingness to achieve on appointment.
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of families with young children.
- Experience of working with other agencies.
- Ability to work alone effectively.
