Benefit Training and Support Officer
Full time 37 hours or pro-rated for hours worked*
Salary range: £23709 to £29241 per annum
We are looking for a benefit expert to join our excellent Housing & Council Tax Benefit Team.
In this role you will be responsible for training new assessment staff. You will design and develop training programmes and deliver training to benefit staff to enable them to carry out their duties.
Other key responsibilities are dealing with applications for Discretionary Housing Payments and Direct Payments of Local Housing Allowance, handling complex casework such as complaints, enquiries from members and MP’s and providing back up for other technical posts in the benefit team ( for example ensuring payments are run and software tested).
The ability to provide training, coaching and mentoring for benefit assessment staff is vital to this role. We need the successful candidate to be an expert in the area of benefit assessment and to have had some experience of the other aspects of the role.
You should be able to demonstrate:

? Have a clear focus on customer needs
? Have strong evidence of team skills
Recent experience of Housing/Council Tax Benefit assessment is essential. Training experience would be an advantage. However, full training will be provided for the right candidate.
*We will consider applications for part time work on reduced hours provided the candidate can work every day.
