Southampton City Council is looking to recruit an Assistant Team Manager to join our busy Adoption Service. The Adoption Service covers all areas of adoption work, including recruitment of adopters, family finding, preparation of children for adoption, Adoption Support Services, services to adult adoptees and birth relatives.

Each ATM takes a lead role for an area of work and in particular we are looking for an Assistant Team Manager to take a lead role for the recruitment, training and assessment of adopters and to review and manage the Duty system.

We have a strong commitment to preparing, planning and providing high quality adoptive placements to meet the needs of children.

You will need substantial experience of adoption social work and also have experience of management or the aspiration/readiness to make the transition to a management role.

All new staff will receive an induction programme and regular supervision. In house training is also available for core management skills.
