Southampton City is supporting social work

Southampton City Council knows the importance of a dynamic, well functioning children’s social work service and is investing new resources to enable children’s services to meet the needs of the most vulnerable children and families in the City.

Our Children in Need teams are expanding to ensure good practice and manageable caseloads. They will be linked to localities to enable integrated joined up working. Southampton is already signed up to good supervision, training and team support. Assistant team managers (currently known as senior practitioners but under review) supervise practice and participate in team developments and we are looking to recruit dynamic, energetic social workers with experience of both practice and supervision.
